A commitment to Pembina Trails School Division

As a former high school athlete, Brook Jones, is advocating to support student-centre activities within the Pembina Trails School Division.

Supporting Safe and Inclusive Schools

Brook believes that students, teachers, administration and support staff need to feel safe and included in a positive learning environment while at school.

Supporting Foundational Subjects

Brook believes first and foremost that foundational subjects need to be supported at their currently level with an increase in support.

School Buses

Brook believes the school bus garage needs to be relocated from its current location on Wilkes Avenue.

Supporting Extracurricular Activities

If there is a material increase in the annual budget, Brook believes these funds should be directed to areas that support education outside of the classroom, such as extracurricular activities, which include sports, band, drama/theatre, field trips, and school exchanges, just to name a few. Brook strongly believes that additional learning and lifelong experiences for students happen outside of the classroom.

Supporting Athletic Fields

Brook believes there is a need for the improvement of athletic facilities/fields/track ovals such as at  École Charleswood School, Institut Collégial Vincent Massey Collegiate, and Fort Richmond Collegiate. If elected as school trustee, Brook will look into creating more shared/joint service agreements with the City of Winnipeg and various community organizations to improve the condition of athletic facilities.

The Future

Working towards the construction of a community facility/theatre for the Pembina Trails School Division, similar to the Seven Oaks Performing Arts Centre that opened at Garden City Collegiate in 2018.

School trustee candidate Brook Jones gives thumbs up while on the campaign trail.
Brook Jones is out and about in Tuxedo as he meets with local residents during the 2025 by-election.

“I am passionate about wanting to support students and teachers and I’m committed to giving back to the school division that gave me so much in life.”
